AI recommendations

How are restaurants selected?

An assistant assembles an answer from what it can find and cross-check: your website and menu, listings and maps data, reviews, and third-party sources such as guides and local press. Restaurants that are clearly described, consistent everywhere, and supported by credible sources are easier to include with confidence.

Why do AI answers change?

They vary by platform, location, wording, date, the rest of the conversation, and what information is available at that moment. That is precisely why we test a controlled prompt set repeatedly instead of taking one screenshot.

Does location matter?

A great deal. Many dining questions are local by nature — "near me", a neighbourhood, a landmark, a hotel — so we test from the locations and with the phrasing your diners actually use, and we report which settings each result came from.

Are recommendations personalized?

Sometimes. Signed-in history, earlier messages in the conversation and device location can all shape an answer. That is why we measure across a controlled set of questions and repeated runs rather than trusting any single personal result.

Restomend services

What does Restomend change?

The public record around your restaurant: how the website and menu describe it, whether listings agree with each other, how genuine guest feedback is requested and answered, which credible sources mention it, and how easily a diner can go from a recommendation to a booking.

Which platforms are tested?

The mainstream consumer assistants and AI search surfaces your diners actually use. The exact set is agreed at the start of the engagement and named in every report, along with the dates tested.

Does Restomend replace SEO?

No. Yes. Listings, maps data, reviews and a readable website are among the sources assistants draw on. We build on that work rather than replace it. SEO works towards a position on a page of links. We work on whether an assistant can understand your restaurant, verify it against credible sources, and include it in a generated answer. The hygiene overlaps; the target and the measurement do not.

Can it work with an existing agency?

Yes. We scope around what they already own so the work is not duplicated, and we share the measurement so everyone is looking at the same evidence.

Results

Can recommendations be guaranteed?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. No agency controls what an assistant says. What we guarantee is the work and the measurement: a documented baseline, the agreed deliverables completed, and a clear account of what changed.

How are improvements measured?

A fixed set of high-intent restaurant questions, re-run on a schedule, reported as recommendation rate, top-three inclusion, competitor share, source coverage, information accuracy and reservation readiness. No composite score, no black box.

How long can changes take?

Information corrections can surface within weeks. Source authority takes longer, because it depends on other people publishing. Ninety days is enough to establish a baseline, fix the foundations, and measure again.

What happens if visibility declines?

It can, because competitors and sources change too. Monitor exists for exactly that: the same questions are re-run every month, a decline is traced to its likely cause — a changed listing, a new competitor, a lost source — and the next month’s action plan addresses it.

Reviews and authority

Does Restomend write reviews?

No. Never. We improve the process by which your team requests and responds to genuine guest feedback. Anything else is both against platform rules and against the point.

Does Restomend pay for mentions?

No. We do not buy links, placements, awards or editorial coverage, and we do not use spam directories. Paid mentions are weak evidence and a real risk to your reputation.

How is authority developed?

By giving credible people a real reason to mention you: accurate information for local guides and tourism bodies, story angles for food writers, partnerships with nearby venues and hotels, and relevant community and culinary associations.

Which sources matter?

The ones an assistant can trust and that are relevant to your cuisine and city: established local and food publications, neighbourhood and tourism guides, hotel concierge resources, reputable directories, and genuine guest reviews. We map which ones already cite your competitors.

Engagement

What does it cost?

The Snapshot is free. Restomend 90 is a fixed-scope engagement quoted after the Snapshot, once we can see the actual condition of the restaurant. Monitor is a monthly subscription after that.

What access is required?

Your website or CMS, your listing and reservation platforms, current menu files, and one named person who can approve changes. Access and approvals arriving on time is the client-side condition of the guarantee.

How much customer time is needed?

One kickoff session, then short approvals as the work moves. We centralize access requests and batch approvals so your team is not pulled into a second full-time project.

Can Restomend support several locations?

Yes. Restaurant Groups handles the difference between brand-level and location-level visibility, with per-location testing, centralized approvals and group reporting.
